District 5950 of Rotary International is a group of 64 Rotary Clubs located in Central and Southwestern Minnesota. These clubs represent 41 Minnesota communities ranging in size from Minneapolis to Springfield. Our District is one of 529 Districts in 166 countries throughout the world and totaling 1.2 million Rotarians in more than 35,000 local Rotary Clubs.
Located just 60 miles west of the Twin Cities metro area on US Hwy 12, Litchfield is the county seat and a regional center. The community of 6,688 boasts strong schools, excellent healthcare, and economic opportunity. The City of Litchfield supports its residents and businesses with numerous recreational possibilities, beautiful surrounds, and state of the art infrastructure.
Meeker County, Minnesota, is located approximately 1 hour west of Minneapolis, and our population is approximately 23,250, covering 610 square miles. Government offices are housed in the County Courthouse, the Family Services Center, the County Highway/MN DOT Transportation Facility and the Law Enforcement Center in the county seat of Litchfield.

Established in 1876, it is the oldest, continuously operating business in Litchfield. Publication is every Wednesday. The Independent Review also publishes the Meeker County Advertiser.

Annual, town festival held the second weekend in July, courtesy of local volunteers. It includes a Grande Day parade, art in the park, 4-mile run, beach party, fishing contest, golf tournament, kiddie parade, fireworks, bike dig, and a queen coronation.
The Litchfield Public Library is part of the Pioneer Library System. Their services include: Books, movies, music CDs, large print books, eBooks (Overdrive), magazines, newspapers, interlibrary loan, computers with internet, WiFi, photocopies, scanning (faxing not available), meeting room, study rooms, test proctoring, book club, programs & events.
